Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and serves as a SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. Her mother is TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been so since when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She could work with national producers on programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then it was announced that she was hired by the CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009 she relocated from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting on KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley in Texas and became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She was also often asked to serve as anchors for the weather and sports. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasstation, which is where she is more responsible. She reported on the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor herself. She also served as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also served as an anchor on sports in Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved into Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She's more mature than her younger sister. Her family relocated from Mexico to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Then, shortly afterward the family split up, and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died from kidney cancer in 2006. In the course of a family holiday in Ohio, the younger Collins had taken a position alongside her elder sister. Still a senior in high school and yet having a clear vision of what she would like to accomplish with her life Antonietta went to her local University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. In the end she fell in love with the university. The university offered her an academic major. She graduated from high school and was enrolled in media studies at the university. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor of WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a member. He encouraged her to have confidence and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her, and she determined to live up to the expectations of him and not failed him.
